So I%26#039;ve been wanting to put some tribute pieces and fan vids together... What are the %26quot;rules%26quot; for using other peoples art in these fan vids/slides for YouTube, etc. You certainly have to credit them for their work by supplying their name, info, link, etc... but should I also put off any sort of project until I receive written/emailed permission first?

i%26#039;m hoping to do a series honoring a known sculptor, and i%26#039;ll show him, working on one of his works, and then show some of his works...this will be done by permission...see, it is important to get permission from the artist or the artist%26#039;s estate.
